Perils of Landlording: Pyromaniac Tenants
My clients just barely closed on a fantastic bargain triplex along the River Project. There had been some problems with house fires recently as supposed vagrants began to find shelter in a group of homes across the street set for demolition. Well, it turns out that it wasn’t transients responsible…its my client’s brand new tenant! By the way...it’s a second-degree felony to start a home on fire. Looks like its time to start marketing for a new tenant. Here is a link to the news article and video the tenant talking to news crews before her arrest.

I think my favorite part was when the reporter asked her "What do you think about this? What do you want to tell the arsonist?
Answer: "There are a lot of cats in there and last week on the fires killed a cat."
I don't think that was what the reporter was expecting, hence her follow up question:
"Do you want to tell them to stop?"
Answer, "Uh ya."
