I was out shopping with some clients this week and stumbled upon this oddity:
A quick search of Wikipedia seems to indicate it may be a derivative of a Soviet style electrical outlet. What are your thoughts?

That's a 240 volt outlet. It takes a special plug. We use one for our air compressor.
Paul is right. It is a 20 Amp 240 volt outlet. It is important to note that it is specifically for 20 Amp equipment as opposed to a 30A 240V dryer outlet or 50A 240V range outlet. Hope that helps! -Anthony
